Käthe Fog

ODENSE, FYN

Käthe Fog has a Bachelor’s degree from the School of Design (Art) and has worked for several well-known Danish companies, magazines and weeklies as a freelance designer, alongside teaching at the design school for a number of years. She has always worked with design, form and color and has always been busy with many assignments.

Käthe works mostly with digital images that offer creative possibilities that are not possible by painting on canvas.

Her inspiration comes from years of working as a designer with countless trips to Milan, Florence and Paris and her enthusiasm for the amazing works of the ancient masters, especially the artists of the 19th and 20th centuries, where she uses elements from the great works in her collages, which then appear in a different composition as beautiful dreamlike figures.

“I’ve often visited Paris, several times a year, dating back to the 80s, when there were still ‘real’ Parisian women to be seen on the streets. I was a collector of the earlier racy photographs of casual ladies in Paris. These were hanging everywhere in the familiar stalls. Now I use them in some of my collages, which are nostalgic flashbacks in a romanticized image of life in Paris, late 1800s and early 1900s”

Photo collages on canvas are all unique, meaning only one piece is printed.
Photo collages on paper are printed in 10 pieces, all of which are numbered and signed.
All prints are professionally made as giclee prints that are UV treated and color resistant.
